What is it about food that attracts cockroaches?

I really want to burn sweetly scented candles and oils in my apartment to make it smell nice. However, we are having a slight roach problem (partially due to being on the first floor of the building), and I was wondering what charecteristic of food attracts cockroaches. For example, would the sweet scent of my candles lead the cockroaches to believe that there is food (i.e. sweets) where I am really burning the candles/oils. We have put traps out, and are planning on putting out tablets, but I would really like the reassurance that my using candles will not attract more roaches. Thanks!

Roaches actually pick up smell traces with their antennae. They can distinguish between similar smelling things to pick out what they are searching for as easily as we distinguish between pennies and quarters. The candles wont invite them. Otherwise, citrus fruit has been used to offend roaches and make them steer clear.

One treatment that works extremely well on almost any infestation of roaches, is Boric Acid. It comes labled under many different names as roach treatment (frequently is called Roach-Proof), but is always a powder, and is blue or white in color.

How do you arrange a romantic hotel room with the hotel?

For my husband, I would get a nice hotel room and is decorated with rose petals, warm bath with candles, champagne, you know ... The Romanesque night together. However, I do not know how to fix these things with the hotel. They will do exactly as I want or what? What should I do?! Probably Hilton will be using for my hotel choice "If that helps any. If you have a nice hotel in the area just call and then tell then what you're thinking. Giving a credit card that will take care of everything. They have done before. Plus it's a sort of surprise to both this way. It is best to do on the weekend because the hotels are business travelers less, need and have the time to look after you. I've done it and works very well.
